Who told Lady Catherine De Bourgh about Darcy and Lizzie?

Who knew, how did they know, and how did they have the guts to tell Lady Catherine?

I always thought it was Mr Collins, because didn’t he send that letter to Mr Bennet cautioning him against letting Elizabeth and Darcy get married? And then Lady Catherine shows up all irritated? 

See I always keep going back and thinking that, but at the same time I feel like Collins is too wimpy to associate himself with something Lady Catherine would disapprove, but maybe it was in attempt to show that he’s on her side…how interesting.
